The unmanned vehicle is based on building the intelligent transportation equipment in JD.com's intelligent logistics system. Based on the core technology of autonomous driving, it develops and produces a variety of series and models of autonomous driving unmanned vehicle products according to the needs of users in different scenarios. For logistics transportation and distribution scenarios, automatic driving trucks and distribution robots are generated. For warehouse, factory, park, community and other scenes, security inspection robots are generated. For the scene in the office building, a service robot is generated. Relying on the needs of the commercial market and users, the commercial operation service is realized through an operation mode of high efficiency, low cost and improved user experience.

In September 2016, JD.com officially released an unmanned delivery vehicle, which can deliver goods in batches to places with concentrated orders such as office buildings and residential areas in the urban environment. Its excellent flexibility and convenient use process will greatly improve the delivery efficiency. In June 2017, JD.com's unmanned distribution vehicle has been operating normally in many domestic universities. At the same time, JD.com has been trying hard in such fields as large-scale unmanned trucks, hoping to free people from heavy manual labor through technological progress and improve operational efficiency in an all-round way.

JD.com's unmanned car project has been put into research and development since the second half of 2016 and was officially launched on September 1, 2016. During the period of double 11 in 2016, the first trial operation of unmanned vehicle distribution will be completed. In 2017, JD.com's unmanned car will also be landed and put into daily distribution operations. At present, JD.com is developing a variety of unmanned distribution vehicles and has already developed medium and large-scale unmanned vehicles.

The basic situation of JD.com's unmanned distribution vehicle is as follows:

1. Unmanned vehicles are small in size, with length, width and height of 1m, 0.8m and 0.6m respectively. They have six cargo spaces of different sizes, can automatically navigate along the established route, and have the functions of path planning, intelligent obstacle avoidance, lane keeping and intelligent following.

2. Unmanned vehicles complete the loading of goods at the distribution station, make independent route planning according to the destination, find the shortest route and avoid congested road sections;

3. In the process of driving, when encountering obstacles such as pedestrians, pets and vehicles, you can avoid obstacles, detour and make corresponding driving decisions by identifying traffic lights.

4. After automatically driving to the designated location of the target building, it will notify the user to receive the goods through JD.com App, mobile phone SMS, etc. Users can open the warehouse and take their own packages by entering the pick-up code in front of the unmanned vehicle.
