BIM is called Building Information Modeling or Building Information Management. It is an engineering data model based on three-dimensional digital technology and integrates all kinds of relevant information of construction projects. It is a digital expression of the physical and functional characteristics of construction projects. Unlike other common modeling software, BIM physical model contains not only three-dimensional geometric shape information, but also a large amount of non-geometric shape information, such as materials, weights, prices and progress of construction components, which can be used to simulate real-world behavior and thus play a better role in simulation and assistance to construction management.
