The DHL North Asia Hub is DHL's largest express mailing center in the Asia Pacific region, handling more than 120,000 pieces per day. The use of AGV intelligent robots has enabled the automatic search and unmanned transportation of the entire process of inspection, shortening the inspection waiting time, and improving the operating efficiency and site utilization rate by 30% and 40% respectively. The AGV mobile robots are equipped with the latest technologies such as laser obstacle avoidance, ultrasonic distance detection and laser and visual hybrid navigation. Through the seamless connection between the robot control system and the warehouse management system and DHL's own system, the 24-hour all-round management of the storage robot is realized.

DHL's parent company, Deutsche Post DHL, is the first logistics company in the world to propose GoGreen's strategy. As early as 2008, the Group put forward its environmental commitment: on the basis of 2007, the carbon emission efficiency will be increased by 30% by 2020, and the target will be achieved ahead of schedule in 2016.

As a result, Deutsche Post DHL Group put forward a more ambitious “zero emissions” vision in 2050, which will reduce all logistics-related emissions to zero. In order to achieve this strategic vision as scheduled, the Group also set a mid-term goal for 2025 and developed a number of practical action plans and initiatives, including 70% of the dispatch service through the adoption of a green solution for clean energy transportation. The first and last mile services include green solutions in more than 50% of products and services.

In China, DHL Express also actively promotes the sustainable development of green logistics through infrastructure transformation, energy conservation management in production lines, transportation and services, and investment in new technologies and alternative energy sources. The company has invested in electric vehicles in combination with local conditions. Last year, it joined the “Race to Zero” project jointly sponsored by China International Economic Exchange Center and Paulson Foundation, and promised to be based on 2013. The standard will increase the carbon emission efficiency by 36% by 2025. In July of this year, DHL Express also established the first “DHL Express China Public Welfare Forest” in Fengning County, Hebei Province, expanding the local forest area by nearly 200 acres.
